It all started with a love for fantasy sports. Matt Kalish presented the idea of turning a season-long passion for fantasy sports into a daily model to his friends, Jason Robins and Paul Liberman. Jason took the lead on market research, Paul started developing the website and Matt created a daily fantasy sports contest model…The rest is DraftKings history.

Here’s how DraftKings’ Daily Fantasy Sports platform (DFS) works: instead of season-long leagues, we allow customers to compete in single-day, online fantasy sports contests across the largest variety of professional sports. DraftKings customers enter contests and make their team selection – athletes are drafted and teams are built according to athletes’ salary valuations, which are based on their unique historical performance data. Players then submit their team before the games begin and contests lock (close). Players earn points based on their in-game performance. Since the initial platform officially launched in 2012, DraftKings has grown explosively and has become a transformative experience, changing the way fans interact with sports.

DraftKings is headquartered in Boston, MA and offers daily and weekly fantasy sports contests across ten professional sports in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Malta, Germany, Ireland and Austria."
