SALEEM MIYAN

President and Chief Commercialization Officer of Bambu Global

Saleem started his career with Philips Electronics where, during his 8 years there he headed the IoT business unit (RFID, NFC and Smartcard).   He managed the business units’ operations across the USA, UK, Germany, Austria and Asia Pacific.  He closed off his time at Philips in Global Strategic Alliances where he worked on numerous award-winning innovations with industry allies.  He went on to join the Board of Checkpoint Systems Inc. in New Jersey, USA where he was responsible for group international growth and acquisitions.  After two successful years there, he went on to start up a new disruptive technology business which developed an industrial tracking and GPS/Satellite monitoring solution which, after 5 years, was acquired by Lockheed Martin. Saleem was appointed to the Board of Digicore a South African public company, regarded as one of the three largest companies in vehicle and fleet tracking.  After successfully developing their international businesses and leading three acquisitions, the company was acquired by a Novatel Wireless based out of San Diego, California.   Saleem has also previously been involved as an executive board director of a Jordanian Investment fund and as a non-exec director for 6 of their high-tech startup investment businesses. More recently he has been on the Board of Directors of a large UK automotive insurance underwriter where he was responsible for over 1000 members of staff across 5 operating companies including the groups insurance claims operations which, under his stewardship, went on to be awarded a top 15 position in the ‘Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For’, three years running. Over the last few years, Saleem has been at the forefront of Insurtech and Fintech, specifically in the telematics industry where he has successfully led the turnaround and international expansion of three different businesses as their CEO or Executive Board Director. Saleem has spoken at and chaired many worldwide IoT and connected car conferences, analyst briefings, conducted live TV interviews and documentaries.  In addition to this he has also written articles and whitepapers and is a recognized speaker at conferences around the world on technology development, mission critical deployments and disruptive new technologies. In late 2015 he was invited to speak to over 50 Congressmen and President Obama’s government officials in Washington DC at The White House.
